I mis-typed into the location bar http://packages/gentoo.org.  Rather than
reporting an error, firefox instead loaded this URL
http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages.  I just thought that it was kind of
strange that it loaded any page at all instead of an error.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Mistype http://packages/gentoo.org instead of http://packages.gentoo.org
2.http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages is displayed by firefox
3.

Actual Results:  
Rather than an error message stating that the host couldn't be found, it loaded
a page from the Debian website.

Expected Results:  
An error message ought to occur stating that the URL could not be found.

When I correct my typing error everything works properly.  I don't know if the
URL redirection is a "feature", or if anyone knows about it, but I thought that
I would file a bug report in case there is some way to exploit it.
