Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041018 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041018 Firefox/1.0
The download manager opens when a new download is initiated. Setting the
checkbox (under downloads): "Close the Download Manager when all downloads are
complete." does not cause the download manager window to close upon completion.
The above checkbox being unchecked does not have an effect in the contrary.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Uncheck: Options->Downloads:Close the Download Manager when all downloads are
complete.
2. Restart Firefox (to ensure that settings *should* be implemented).
3. Download a file.
4. Check: Options->Downloads:Close the Download Manager when all downloads are
complete.
5. Restart Firefox (to ensure that settings *should* be implemented).
6. Download a file.
Actual Results:
You should see that inspite of clearing and resetting this option, the download
manager window does not close on its own.
Expected Results:
With this option set, the download manager should close upon finishing all
downloads.

I have the same problem with associated files (ie .pdf) using Firefox 1.0 RC1
under Linux.

Eric, does the same thing happen when you download a file that takes at least 15
seconds to download?
Before marking as a dupe of bug 243324, confirming that it only happens with
small files seems rather important.

From reporter:
Without confirmation, I can say that it does appear that it will close on its
own if the transfer time is long (~ > 15s). Also, I have noticed that this bug
appears to be related to filetypes. It seems that only certain filetypes won’t
cause the DM to close. One example that I can think of (with certainty) is .pls
files (play lists).
