As seen on recent FF branch builds; notes: all download prefs at default. The key to this bug is to begin page save before the webpage loading is completed. So do steps 2 and 3 quickly. 1. Shift+reload the Firefox homepage. (currently the image for the NYTimes/FF takes a while to load) 2. File | Save Page As. 3. In the file picker, click Save. tested results: if you're super fast through steps 2 and 3: -The Download Manager appears with the file listed as *Done*. -Click the Open Link. A blank file file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Tracy/Desktop/www.mozilla.org.html is opened in the browser. and then... if you're just fast in steps 2-3: -The Download Manager appears with the file listed as *Done*. -Click the Open Link. A warning dialog appears saying the file cannot be found... That it may have been moved or deleted since it was downloaded. (screen shot to follow) Note: Eventually the webpage finishes loading, the save completes and the saved page can be opened with Open as expected. expected results: If the webpage load had completed before we tried to Save Page As, the expected results would be that page is saved to the desktop without the download manager appearing. What to do in the case that the webpage is still loading? a) Open the download manager with a progress meter. (don't show as done when it really isn't). And make the Open link available only when the download is complete. b) Don't open the download manager. Which is the same as if the Save Page As had been initiated after the webpage had completed loading. c) something else

notice the two files listed and the associated files on the desktop. This was from being super fast in steps 2-3 for a single Save Page As.
