For example, say I already have Firefox open to a couple web pages. I get an email, in which I click a link. As it stands, this opens a new Firefox window to execute the link. Since one of the foremost reasons I use Firefox is for tabbed browsing, I would much prefer to have my programs open links into new tabs whenever Mozilla is already running. I'm not sure how complicated this would be to implement, but it seems the only real issue is checking whether a Mozilla process is already active, and then choosing new tab or new window accordingly.
