If you right click on a link on a page and then select "Copy link location" it is not avalible on the clipboard for other applications. If you then paste it to the URL text entry and then reselect and copy it is avaliable to others.

From bug 28603: This is also affecting Win95B, confirmed, but not WinNT, tested with the 2000-02-20-08-M14 nightly binary. Links copied via the context menu *can be* pasted within Mozilla, including into another window. An ordinary selection, copied, can be pasted into other Apps on both Win95 and WinNT with the same build. Marking pp; changing component to "XP Toolkit/Widgets: Menus".

this actually affects NT as well, and was a bug in the win32 clipboard impl wrt plain text apps (so pasting to notepad would work, but wordpad would not). fix in hand. it was stupid.
