User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Firefox password manager only seems to save a minority of my typical sites
passwords. Comcast is a good example, but others like REI.com, BestBuy, etc.
all have the same problem. But, sites like ATT wireless work fine. What's up?
I can not make a switch from Netscape until this issue is resolved. Help!

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to https://www.comcast.com/membership/Login.asp
2.type in id and password
3.it logs in, but will not store in password manager, or even recognize a
password is being entered

Actual Results:
logs in, but never asks to store it in the password manager

Expected Results:
asks for storing in password manager, then does it, then I don't have to keep
re-entering it

Additionally, when I did the 'move passwords/ids' from Netscape function, it
failed to do so. So, I tried manually and found it would not store some.

comcast.com WFM 20041107 Firefox 1.0 Mac OS X so it shouldn't be a platform/OS
issue, either.

madougla@yahoo.com, do you have other specific URLs of where the password
manager is not asking to remember passwords?
Works for me with FireFox 1.0 on Windows 2000.
this is true for me, as well

for ONE site: www.baseboard.net

i am forced to log in with each visit; the cookie will not persist past closing
the browser. my cookie settings in the prefs are correct.

no one else that i've talked to has the same problem with the site.

the problem has been persistent since early Phoenix, and continues to be true.

currently using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5)
Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

reflecked@mac.com, this bug is about the *Password Manager* not remembering
logins and passwords (and automatically populating login fields with this info,
waiting for you to hit submit), not about Firefox not remembering login
*cookies* and auto-logging you in.

Nevertheless, I was able to create an account at www.baseboard.net and have
Firefox a) remember the login/password combo in the Password Manager and,
separately, b) have Firefox remember the autologin cookie and log me in
automatically when visiting the site again after restarting Firefox. Are you
sure you aren't clicking the site's "logout" button/link when you leave the site?

WFM with the very same build: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O;
en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

You might try deleting (or moving aside) your profile and seeing if it works
with a clean one....

Without new information in the last month-plus, closing as WFM based on prior
comments.
