Mozilla adds extra pixel to the left and right to the Luna vertical theme scrollbars / top and bottom to horizontal scrollbars - width / height is not consistent with other Windows applications.

See attached screen shot, it is easy to see that the scrollbars aren't rendered
like truly native XP scrollbars.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Where does the difference lie in?
Looks the same to me.
First, an extra padding vertical line to the left of the scroll arrow. And if
one digs deeper one will notice more differences, like the vertical line to the
right exactly below the border of the scroll arrow. It just isn't there in Firefox.
There's a trivial difference, but I don't know if that's entirely scrollbar-related.

This is a legacy of the Classic theme which has the same cosmetic problem.
Summary: Firefox scrollbars not looking exactly like Luna theme scrollbars → Mozilla adds extra pixel to the left and right to the Luna theme scrollbars

This bug is still around in Deer Park alpha 2, so I thought I'd comment on it.

Severity should be Normal, or at least Minor.

While the cosmetic difference is trivial, the usability difference isn't - i.e.
when you have your browser maximised Mozilla's extra 1px right border means you
can't move the mouse to the very far right side of the screen to use the
scrollbar, you have to go to the far right... and then back left one pixel.

Now, some windows applications do the same thing as Mozilla (I tried WordPad,
NotePad, Word 2002) so it might be standard Windows behaviour but Explorer/IE
does it -right-, and that makes them easier to use.

If the fix is as simple as changing a css border value to 0px instead of 1px, it
should be dealt with right away.

Looked around a bit more, and this looks to be a duplicate of bug 173155.

I agree, this is not a duplicate of that bug

Why is it not a duplicate of that bug? That bug is a direct result of there being an extra pixel on the right of the scrollbar when using Windows XP's Luna.
because I see it always, not just in fullscreen
Gavin, see the attached image, this issue is always visible on any scrollbar
Tweaking summary for bug searching.

I'd originally taken my problem to bug 61188, but will repeat it here.

The SeaMonkey scrollbars are exactly 2 pixels wider / taller than are the scrollbars in any other Windows application - under Windows XP, using Luna, or the theme (Hyperion) I designed and am currently running with.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the problem in my "Hyperion" theme. The already existing graphic attached here illustrates the problem with the native XP Luna them. This was also discussed last year in Cheeaun's blog (it's from where that graphic comes):
http://cheeaun.phoenity.com/weblog/2004/08/scrollbar-tweaks.html

In the case of my Hyperion Windows theme, it screws up the graphics I designed by giving a right vertical line on vertical scrollbars, and a bottom horizontal line on horizontal scrollbars.

This occurs with both the native SeaMonkey classic theme as well as the newer
Orb Colours Classic theme
(http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=362605&postdays=0&postorder=asc&postsperpage=15&start=0).

Shows how the non-standard width screws up some themes.
