User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

In the page at
http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/29/171204&tid=1&tid=8, text
in the body section of the page is overlapping text in the left-hand nav section
of the page. It looks like the table cell representing the body section is not
honoring the width of the cell to its left. Various Slashdot pages exhibit this
problem in Firefox 1.0, but not in IE 6.x.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/29/171204&tid=1&tid=8
2.
3.

Expected Results:
The page should display correctly (as it appears in IE).

I am running Firefox maximized on my secondary monitor, set to 1280x1024x24-bit
resolution, on a Windows XP Professional desktop with two monitors (dual-head
Nvidia card).
Isn't this also bug 217527?
Slashdot left column fails on the branch, works on the trunk: that would be bug
217527
