User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041122 Firefox/0.9.1+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041201 Firefox/0.9.1+ I downloaded the latest nightly build -- removed the old installation (without deleting the installation directory, though) -- and started installing the new build. The installation proceeded through Licence Agreement, but then stopped with an error: Error during installation - US Region Pack: -208 INVALID_ARGUMENTS I then installed without any problems the previous nightly build I had been using till so far. I had it's installation package in store. I downloaded the file FirefoxSetup.exe from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ which is what I always use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Remove the earlier nightly build but not the installation directory (in order to make sure your bookmarks are safe.) 2. Try to install the latest nightly build (1.12.2004) from FirefoxSetup.exe Actual Results: I got the error message described in details. I clicked on cancel and needed to close the installation progress window (with the green bar a few centimeters to go, but stopped) by clicking the red X. Expected Results: Finish the installation. My computer has Finnish (European) settings on Microsoft Windows XP professional Version 2002, SP2.

That's likely to be fixed already. 2004-11-30 20:15: fixing windows installer bustage from aviary branch landing. Please try a build from today: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/tinderbox-builds/sweetlou-0.11/ Please reopen if it's not fixed with that build.

RE comment #1. This issue is with trunk builds. It fails with the latest Beast tinderbox build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/tinderbox-builds/beast-trunk/

ok, sorry for the wrong link.
Should this have keyword smoketest? I see this also, prevents me from testing out the new trunk builds at all.

Use the zip build: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/tinderbox-builds/beast-trunk/Firefox-win32.zip.
I tried the win32 zip and I continue to get XML parsing errors when I start Firefox

(In reply to comment #6) > I tried the win32 zip and I continue to get XML parsing errors when I start Firefox Since this bug is not about an XML parsing error, your comment is not this bug. File a new one if no bug about your problem already exists.

Well, obviously a win32 zip file wouldn't create an error correlated with the installer. But I got the XML parsing error when the installer got stuck at US Region Pack and the error still occurs with the zip file, so I don't think using the zip fixes the fundamental problem of the US Region Pack error

I removed (part of) my profile and installed zip and it runs fine now. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041201 Firefox/1.0+

I'm hoping my landing of the browser/installer dir will fix this.

This error no longer occurs in the 2004120212 build. However the installer is still broken, see bug 272851.

Reopening. I just realized that this error comes after the new DLL errors in bug 272851, so there is no way to confirm that this is fixed.

Firefox 1.05 and 1.06 stop installing during unzip. Message: Error Occurred during Installation. en - US Language Pack - 208 Invalid Arguements. Version 1.04 currently installed in W2000 SP4. Tried installing 1.05/1.06 over it, uninstalling it, direct install, and save to zip then install. All with same error.

After several tries it ended up installed even though the error message continued. This is good, but have no explaination.
