We need to respond to the complaint about no info in Help on disabling possibly evil stuff. As we don't have a document for plug-ins, I'm not sure exactly how we'll add in that info for them. It's easy enough to add the info for extensions/themes (assuming we want to do this for themes, that is), but without a handy spot for plug-ins, that may be more tricky. Suggestions on the plug-in aspect of this?

How about a separate heading Plugins under Downloads subheading (under Options) in the help viewer? Plugins are already mentioned there anyway so you could then expand on this a bit more. Alternatively, you could do a 'Security' section (or similar) for the help viewer under which you could then place the information on Cookies, Popup blocking, Extensions, Themes and Plugins.

We've already covered uninstalling themes and extensions. You can't disable themes since they're either in use or not. We might want to explain how to disable extensions. You can disable plugins in Options->Downloads->Plugins, but it was said that "this option only prevents plugins from loading when their associated file types are opened on their own, not when they are embedded in a page". http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=5808 So we might want to explain how to delete plugins.

The add-ons part is done. Plug-ins is left.
Summary: Include info on disabling Firefox themes, extensions, plug-ins, etc. in Help → Include info on removing plug-ins in Help
Whiteboard: bug 336389 will fix this for add-ons

Moving over to SUMO. In Firefox 3, Plugins can be enabled or disabled in the Add-ons manager (bug 339056). This should be mentioned here: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Customizing+Firefox#Disabling_Enabling_and_Uninstalling_Add_ons: "If you want to get rid of an extension"... "Themes can only be uninstalled"... Add something like: "Plugins can be enabled or disabled".

I can't edit the locked ((Customizing Firefox|#Disabling Enabling and Uninstalling Add Ons)) article, but we now have ((Troubleshooting plugins)) and ((Uninsalling add-ons)), which document how to enable/disable/remove plugins.
