There's definitely something fishy going on here.

In Firefox 2, I consistently and reliably get redirected to

http://h20375.www2.hp.com/portal/error_display.jsp

when loading http://www.hp.com/partners/us . The page actually displays for an instant, and then the error page comes up.

In Camino trunk, I get redirected to

http://h20375.www2.hp.com/portal/site/publicpartner-portal/?lang=en

which loads fine.

There are a few CSS warnings in Firefox's Error Console, but nothing that would explain the redirect.

They're doing a bunch of browser-sniffing in

http://welcome.hp-ww.com/js/hpweb_utilities.js

but it looks largely benign and/or sane.

Likewise with the sniffing in

http://h20375.www2.hp.com/portalweb/spp/js/sppFunctions.js

It's entirely possible they're doing something server-side that's breaking Firefox 2 but not unrecognised Gecko browsers like Camino. Confirming for further investigation on the part of...somebody.

If I clear all hp.com cookies (there were only three, two of which were the same as those given to Firefox and the third of which was a JSESSIONID cookie that I'm sure isn't related to this problem) and ensure Camino has "firefox" in the UA string, I can reproduce the error in Camino as well. If I clear cookies again and remove "firefox" from the UA, the error goes away.

There's some sort of Firefox rejection going on here.
