Details

I just downloaded the mpg movie of the Christmas Eve SCO hearings, 56 megs each
time, 3 times. The first time the dl manager was set to use vlc, which is
installed and works quit well. The second time I moved the dot to "save to
disk" but *it never asked me where to put it*. I ran updatedb, then tried to
locate the file by its proper name with zero luck.

The third time I downloaded it, I found it by its hashed name in the cache and
use vlc to play it while it was comeing in, but at the end of the download, it
was removed from the cache, stopping vlc in its tracks, and again a fresh
updatedb and locate sequence cannot find this file anyplace on my system.

I've checked the firefox prefs, even added vlc to the kde prefs for mpeg files,
but thats not going to fix this.

FWIW, and I don't know how to fix this, I am logged in as
gene_heskett@iolinc.net, but that has not been my net address for about 20
months now, its gene.heskett@verizon.net, that 33k dialup finally got to me. If
someone can change that, without changing the password, then the logins should
still be automatic (I think, it was this time)

This is otherwise the best browser ever guys, my hat is off to you.

Cheers, Gene

Cheers
Are you sure there is enough space on your hard drive for the file? I've seen
similar behaviour when there isn't.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
