I'm using SUN JDS. The mozilla preference provides the functionality to "Use the System Preference". Following the instruction "Edit->Preferences->Advanced", I clicked the checkbox "Use Preferences from System" and entered Proxies catagory. I think that mozilla should read the proxy setting from system(gconf) and the user can't modify them, but it's not the case. I open the gconf-editor, it shows that there are some keys related to system proxy, such as "/system/http_proxy/host", "/system/http_proxy/port", "/system/proxy/ftp_host", "/system/proxy/ftp_port"……. I also check the file extension/pref/system-pref/src/gconf/gconf_pref_list.inc, it's werid that mozilla get the system ftp proxy from the key "/system/ftp_proxy/host". I think that if the user click the checkbox to use the system proxy, mozilla should get all the proxy setting from the system. The "Proxies" catagory should be set gray and the user can't change it. I'm working on a patch to resolve the problem, but I want your advice. Is it a bug? Should I modify it as above?
Sorry, I don't know how I can help as I don't have a GTK2 build.
