User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Attached is a small animated GIF which causes nearly triple the CPU load
whenever it's on a page (even loaded seperately) in Firefox 1.0.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Examine CPU usage
2.Open attached file "optn=1.gif" in Firefox
3.Repeat step 1

Actual Results:
CPU usage rises dramatically when the file is displayed

Expected Results:
Nothing unusual

Sorry, but I am unable to d/l a current build to check if this has been fixed.
I thought you might find the .gif file useful.

I can't confirm this, the attachement sits on 0% CPU usage for me

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0
Same here. 0-1% CPU usage.

Reporter, post some info about your graphics card and drivers. Also, you might
try updating them.
Matic, are you actually seeing the bug?

This worksforme too -- 0% CPU with a current Linux trunk build.

Win2k, PIII mobile w/ 256m & nVidia GeForce 2 mobile

All the reproducers seem to have nVidia graphics chips...

Greg, I've modified the animated image. I removed the transparency from both
frames. Is your CPU still pegging?

It is probably a dup of bug 260676. This animate image also has 256 colors.

Nope, the non-transparent version works fine. Think you're right, it's the same
bug w/ nVidia drivers & transparent drawing.
