Apple applications have this. Examples: Text Edit, Safari. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: - Actual Results: - Expected Results: Having a submenu for Find options.
I think this is a very good idea. I also would like to move the Search the Web option from the Go menu to this same find submenu so users can find it easier.
I'll take this bug, it's easy to change.

Josh would be nice if you could pitch in and see if it's ok.

i've never seen "move it into a submenu" and "find it easier" ever used in the same sentence.
hahaha, ok I get the point Mike. Th easier part was more related to the fact that our 2 search options are now grouped rather then releates to moving it into a submenu. So maybe not in a submenu but do move search the web to the edit menu?

(In reply to comment #5) > So maybe not in a submenu but do move search the web to the edit menu? Safari has a Google Search option, which does the exact same as our 'search the web', and it is stuck in the top of the Find submenu.

Nib file containing the moving.
I'm not going to r- the patch because it probably works, but I disagree with
the change so I'm removing the request for a review.

This should not be marked 0.9 as it is far from being a blocker.

I'd like to renew discussion of this bug. Is it really "better" to add a sub menu to Find? From a UI standpoint it doesn't seem like it is (ease of use that is). If we maintain a "search the web" link and add the sub menu for the rest of the items, will that really solve this? Isn't "find/search in this page" a more important feature or one that we'd rather be promoting (you know FAYT). If so, we'd need to keep both in the menu. If we have those two, do we need a sub menu? Seems like the answer would be no, but I could be wrong.
FWIW, I'm in the WONTFIX camp on this one. There are not many items in the edit menu right now, so three grouped "Find" options don't confuse the menu and are readily available. Ditto comment 4 :-) Every other browser I have on my Mac also has its Find options grouped in the root of the Edit menu, save Safari--which seems to think you need 6(!) different find options and which therefore need to be hidden in a submenu because of the clutter.
Comment 4 is a classic. WONTFIX.
