User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Ok perfect example of this: I head over to /. and i notice the little live bookmarks button pop up. I add it to the bookmarks bar, and now I can see the top headlines. What if I want to just go to slashdot.org directly? I need to add another bookmark for it. Let's add a root URL option to it, where we truncate the feed URL's to the domain name and load the page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Feature request N/A
I am also interested in this feature. I have not fully embraced RSS and still often like to start at the friendly homepages of the sites I read. It would be nice to have a bookmark to the main page as part of the live bookmark. In my mind a good solution would be to add another field to the live bookmark properties page which allows the user to enter the main page. Then, if that field is not NULL, the URL in it is displayed as a bookmark above the RSS feed bookmarks. I guess you could try truncating to automate the process, but a plain manual option would also be sufficient. Anyway, that is my $0.02
