RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 202014

People

(Reporter: phiw2, Assigned: bugs)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050128 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050128 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook)

The print dailogue box on OS X does not offer an option to disable the default
headers and footers for printing. About:config has some hidden prefs
(print.print_footerleft, ....) but setting those to an empty string does not
have any effects (deleting the default string). The browser insist on adding
those headers and footers. Restarting the browser does not help.
testing with the latest nightly (20050128) and with FF 1.0

Note this should be an option visible to the user

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. through about:config set the (hidden) prefs (print.print_footerleft, ....) to
an empty string
2. print document
3. browser prints the headers and footers anyway

Actual Results:
browser prints the headers and footers anyway

Expected Results:
Browser should not print headers and footers if the pref is set to an empty string.

Additionally, the browser should offer a preference visible to the user (in the
print-dialogue box) to disable those headers and footers.
This is a bit similar to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=242134,
except I never can set those preferences.
