When I tried to go to website ftprush.com, I tiped ftprush.com in address bar
and hit enter. Status bar showed me "Beginning FTP transaction" and then failed
to connect window apperead on the screen.
When I add www. in front of ftprush.com - everything works as it should (ie I
have www.ftprush.com in address bar)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open new window/new tab
2. type in address bar ftprush.com and hit enter
3. see what happens

Actual Results:  
Beginning FTP transaction in status bar, and Firefox tries to access website
using FTP protocol.

Expected Results:  
Firefox should trie first accessing this site via http. or to check if there is
. after ftp
