As bz noted in bug 280947 comment 14, it's currently not possible to drag an image that was loaded from a data: URL onto the client computers file system.
It's not even possible to drag it to a different Mozilla window... (as the testcase in the URL field lets one check easily). Blake, how bored are you feeling? ;)
