Add an item "Copy Article Location", which would put a news: URL for a newsgroup article on the clipboard, to the context menu in the thread pane for newsgroups.

I believe it was Gerv who fixed this a while back. Gerv, if you can point to the bug you fixed, I'll mark this a DUP, if not, I'll just go ahead and mark it wfm since 'Copy message location' is now in.

This snuck in with the folder pane outliner branch, so I'm marking this worksforme. On trunk builds, this will give us something like: news://news.mozilla.org:119/M8or9.10$iN6.5270@newsall.dti.ne.jp

Verified - this has been in trunk builds for a while now (was in Netscape 7.0 RTM). It landed along with the outliner branch. Builds 2002-11-15-08, Windows 2000, Mac OS X 10.2.2, RedHat Linux 8.0.
