Calender reminders do not appear until the calendar is loaded, is there any way the events could trigger from the browser / email system

(browser / email / irc etc.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Add a reminder to the calendar 2.Close the calendar 3.Use the browser, no reminder activates until the calendar is re-opened Expected Results: It would be good if reminders were not reliant on the canlendar being open

This is closely related to bug 134969 which asks for alarms to pop up when Calendar isn't running.
