For Firefox, you need an additional bug filed in the mozilla.org product for CVS
access.
We'll add you to to the lists of the other produicts soon.

In the case of SeaMonkey 1.0/1.1, adding yourself to the list in
http://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:Localization_Teams (and hopefully seeing L10n packs appear) is all we need for registration.
In the future, we will pick up the more sophisticated cvs-based process already
in use by Firefox/Thunderbird, but for now, entering yourself in the wiki is
enough.

The wiki page has been updated. This are the localization files for version 2.0.0.4, we've built it on Linux and it seems to work.

etrapani: Thanks very much for doing this work.
We've recently developed new documentation about how to become an official l10n team for Firefox or Thunderbird:
http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Starting_a_localization
Could you please follow the procedure there, including creating yourself an L10n wiki page? That will make you the official Esperanto localisation team.
If you can get yourself to the stage where you are able to distribute a working language pack for the latest version of Firefox, we can discuss checking the localisation into CVS.
If you find the documentation isn't detailed enough, please let us know so we can fix it.

I did a compare-locales run on the attached files, this is the result:
{'missing': {},
'missingFiles': {},
'obsolete': {},
'obsoleteFiles': {'browser': ['chrome/browser/feeds/options.dtd.po',
'chrome/browser/preferences/downloads.dtd.po',
'chrome/browser/preferences/general.dtd.po']}}
{'changed': 2424,
'keys': 838,
'missing': {'browser': 0, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 0},
'missingFiles': {'browser': 0, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 0},
'obsolete': {'browser': 0, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 0},
'obsoleteFiles': {'browser': 3, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 3},
'tested': ['browser', 'toolkit'],
'unchanged': 2050}
54% of entries changed
There are 3 remaining files from po, which shouldn't be in there. Not sure about the spellchecker files, and the search engine xml files can be removed, we just need list.txt there.
What I curious about for real is the 54%, is that an artifact of Esperanto borrowing English terms, or is there really quite a bit of remaining work?

There are in fact untranslated strings and if I remember well even untranslated files. Some months ago I converted, since I don't have CVS, the 3 packages Eduardo Trápani provided here to a jar file structure to test the translation. I did it because I'm an esperantist as well. But I didn't follow this localization because Eduardo the owner and I don't belong to his team (if he has a team). As far as I've seen the jar file I created was working. It's strange why that translation takes so long as Eduardo even translated Mozilla 1.5. that means he needn't translate all strings anew. Meanwhile I've translated Seamonkey (but unofficially) based on his translation for Mozilla 1.5. I didn't it for Firefox and Thunderbird because E. T. wants to do it.

There is already a language pack for the CVS version that also works with the latest release. We plan on building it everyday. It is available at http://tradukado.esperanto.org.uy and we have uploaded it to addons.
We were not so clear about the packaging when we sent the files for CVS checking. A substantial amount of work has been done since then and we are building straight from CVS. Please note though that the help contents have not yet been translated, that is why the total translated texts is low. The main aim now is the interface.
Seamonkey is based on our latest Mozilla translation, and so is Firefox, but *a lot* has been done on top of it to make sure that the esperanto translations of different projects (Openoffice, KDE, etc.) use the same glossary. And decisions such as taking away all the unneeded capital letters have been time consuming too, hence the slowness. It should go much faster from now on, and with better quality.
Thanks for the documentation, it's much clearer now.

etrapani, not translating help is OK, in particular for new localizations, so the priorities of your work are on the point. I like the fact that you're sharing a glossary with other projects, that does come with some initial cost, but should help you in the long run.
There is some bad news, as help is not required to be translated, and as comparing html is dead-on hard anyways, it's not part of the statistics, I just check for the files there :-/. The 54% is really just DTDs and properties files.
Anyway, I see you're on track, that's good.

These are the latest localization files. Obsolete files have been cleaned up and the translation has already been reviewed by two other independent teams.

Comment on attachment 286868 [details]
Localization files (linux) 2/2
r=me on this. There's still something odd in bookmarks.html, but we can fix that later.
The translation ratio is now at 77%, which is still kind-of low compared to the localizations we ship.
This should be good to go, though.
Eduardo, mind filing a new CVS account bug or reopen the one you had?
If you don't mind I'll do the initial commit on the trunk for you.
I'll be filing a flock of follow-up bugs to guide us to a release in a minute.

Marking FIXED, congratulations.
We'll follow up on the initial landing in bug land-eo, I guess that's where it should be.

Eduardo, we still need a cvs account bug for you. Please follow https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Becoming_an_Official_Localization#CVS_write_access on how to file the bug and proceed on the form etc. Thanks.
