Two changes, really -- can file in separate bugs if necessary, though Mac SSL
depends on each.
1. Need to be able to find an application by its creator code ('nPSM' in the
case of Mac PSM) -- this is a fallback in case we can't find PSM in the right
place.
2. Need to be able to launch applications in the background. Since PSM is a
daemon process, it needs to be able to launch in the background.

19119 (SSL on Mac) depends on this bug being resolved.

Cannot verify. Opening PSM crashes Mac for me. Waiting for comments from mwelch
or sfraser.
