This could be a dupe of Bug 280084, did you install over the top of an existing
install? If you did have you tried uninstalling 1.0.1, deleting the leftover
Firefox folder then reinstalling 1.0.1?
Had uninstalled Firefox 1.0 previously
Did not delete any additonal folders.
Installed 1.0.1 with defaults.
If there's a "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components\autocomplete.xpt" file
and deleting it solves the problem this would definitely be a dup of bug 280084
Presumptively duping... reopen if you do *not* have an autocomplete.xpt in the
same directory as browser.xpt

If you do have it, just delete it and delete xpti.dat in your profile (so it
gets regenerated) and you should be fine.
