284520 - Japanese l10n update: diff between Firefox 1.0 and Firefox 1.0.1

We japanese localization team made a lot of change for Firefox after 1.0 release.
This includes critical update like en-US change and marketting porpose update.

I know that as a default, non-critical update is not accepted for 1.0.1.
We accepted that and not included minor change found just before Firefox 1.0
and Thunderbird 1.0. But this time, I claim to include whole updates with below
reasons.

  1. Unity of Firefox and Thunderbird.
  2. Passed our QA proccess or not.
  3. To keep motivation of our contributers.
  4. Efficiency of localization work.

I describe details of these reasons...

  1. Unity of Firefox and Thunderbird.
Between Firefox 1.0 and Thunderbird 1.0, we developed many translation rule
and word selectiong policy. Thunderbird 1.0 release is under these rules but
Firefox 1.0 is not yet. These change includes change of main words and menu
items (especially for ja-JPM locale).
# Firefox 1.0 and Thunderbird 1.0 translation is not synchronized.
To make synchronize Firefox and Thunderbird, we should marge the change after
Firefox 1.0 or users cannot feel that Firefox and Thunderbird is the pair of
application.
To spread Firefox and Thunderbird, we should unify their translation and I 
claim the approval to commit change including translation change.

  2. Passed our QA proccess or not.
We always make langpack XPI package and for test first.
We have tested langpack with whole fix for Firefox 1.0.1 not with part of fix
for Firefox 1.0.1.

Then at this time, most trustful and tested language resource for Firefox 1.0.1
is the resource with all changes.
If we split only critical change from the all changes, there is possibilities
of making a mistake and we must QA for the langage resource again.
Though in common sence more fix means more mistake, including whole changes is
enough trustful(tested) and more secure than spliting only critical fix from now.

  3. To keep motivation of our contributers.
We are supported by many many contributers. They report bugs and poropose
changes to make Firefox better. They believe that we accept their report and
fix Firefox. L10n work in not only my work but our whole users work.
I don't want to nock their expectation and beliefs.
If the change is only just fix like typo, I don't ask strongry like this but
this time, not a few and imoportant translation change was made as I wrote above.

  4. Efficiency of localization work.
We already marged fix into whole the language resources.
Selecting critical/important change carefully costs a lot.
We have to prepare for Thunderbird 1.0.1 and Mozilla 1.7.6 and we don't have
enought time to split critical/non-critical fix.

diff -r -u -w [current l10n CVS content] [language resouces for 1.0.1]
I used '-w' since some files's new-line code is different and it makes diff
quite large.
This diff was made between checktouted dir and temporary directory and there
are
some CVS dir only in chekouted dir.
No language resouce files are add/deleted and please ignore them.

Some diff files includes no diff except existence of CVS dirs.
I attached only to indicates clearly that previous diff is now obsolate.
These diff includes:

  1. Search Plugin update
This update was required by searchengine site, and must be included.
  2. intl.css (and some other files) update for security alert dialog
Some dialogs are not enought size and part of messages/buttons are not viewd.
This including security aleart dialogs, so this is a security fix.
  3. intl.css update for profile manager window style.
When profile manager window use long (more than 1 line) message for
"Work offline" or "Don't ask at startup", we cannot use more than 5 profiles.
If we creat more than 5 profile, we can create properly but we cannot it
because scroll bar of profilenames cannot work properly.
I think this is critical required fix.
  4. same changes as you did for en-US locale files
update.mozilla.org is now addons.mozilla.org and so on.
xslt.properties has new value.

Please review these diff and give your approval to commit into CVS.
If some part of this minimal fix is not approvaled, give me approval to commit
left part with indicating that part with above number (1~4) in this comment
or with filename please. Then I'll commit diff excluding parts you don't
approve.

These fix are asked by searchengine site's staffs and without this mozilla-japan
cannnot treat Firefox 1.0.1 as a official release.

This makes the plugin match the one at mycroft, but does that one work? There
are quite
a few plugins there that should have the charset setting. Or was it encoding?
I'd rather see you create your own copy than ship a non-working one. As you did
that for yahoo

Both your indication are right.

Removing queryCharset is just my misstake of dealing locale src files.
queryCharset is needed and I never remove it.
# utf-8 is right encoding for creativecommons as far as I tested now

I'll fix region.properties#17 too.

I think this fix should be done in not only ja-JP/ja-JPM, but also en-US as soon

I tested the Linux installer build and Mac OS X jpm build (20050311-1.0.1), and
they look good: I noticed that the Yahoo search plugin is Yahoo! JAPAN, and
since that got approval per comment 38, I'd say these builds for these platforms
pass QA.

Tracy, if you're able to look at the Windows bits (from
latest-aviary1.0.1-l10n/) that would be great. thanks!
