Add a year view with cross reference with current view (weekly or monthly),
add possibility to designate blocks of time (even more than 1 blocks on the same
time) or a particular activity, such as a vacation, an off-site meeting, or a
conference.

Blocks of time will be define with attribute by users (holidays, conference
...), view by differents colors and so it's possible when pointing by mouse to
have resume of total days over the year (holidays, trip, conférence...)

Like in Lotus Organizer, It will be helpfull to report all events in a single
year view and use also this year view to define range of date (booked) like
"holidays in Egypt", "Meeting in Chicago"  etc....with a automatic report in
other view (daily, weekly....)
In this way, it's possible to see what is free or not over the year (year view)
and what it was plan in the current view....
It will be possible to define more than a range of events for the same date to
see differents possibility (like holidays and meetings in the same week in the
month)...

This sounds like bug 157270, though I'm not sure what it means to cross
reference the views.  Suggest marking this as a duplicate of that bug.

I agree with gekacheka about the duplicate part.  I also cannot understand the
'cross-reference' request.  With no response from the reporter to clarify in
over a month, marking duplicate.
