Change "Platform" to "CPU" (or CPU type or family) or at least change: "PC" to "i386", "x86", or "IA-32" "DEC" (which doesn't exist anymore) to "Alpha" I'd like to see the others changed as well, it just makes way more sense DEC is now Compaq which also makes PCs. HP makes PC as well as UNIX boxen. SGI is switching to Linux in the future and Compaq may too. There no entry for AIX/PPC. Saying Linux/DEC, Linux/Macintosh, or Linux/Sun always seems really wrong For completeness Sun -> "Sparc", SGI -> "Mips", Macintosh -> "PPC" and then add an entry for IA-64 while your at it. I understand that this is something core to the database organization, but I'm not asking to re-do the whole database, just rename the existing names.

We are currently trying to wrap up Bugzilla 2.16. We are now close enough to release time that anything that wasn't already ranked at P1 isn't going to make the cut. Thus this is being retargetted at 2.18. If you strongly disagree with this retargetting, please comment, however, be aware that we only have about 2 weeks left to review and test anything at this point, and we intend to devote this time to the remaining bugs that were designated as release blockers.
Target Milestone: Bugzilla 2.16 → Bugzilla 2.18
The User Interface component now belongs to Gerv. Reassigning all UNCONFIRMED and NEW (but not ASSIGNED) bugs currently owned by Myk (the previous component owner) to Gerv.

Reassigning back to Myk. That stuff about Gerv taking over the User Interface component turned out to be short-lived. Please pardon our confusion, and I'm very sorry about the spam.

It doesn't look like anyone is working on this bug, and we want to wrap up 2.18 in a reasonable timeframe; pushing this off to 2.20.
Target Milestone: Bugzilla 2.18 → Bugzilla 2.20
I disagree with changing Platform to CPU. We have Platforms that run System and those platforms contain 6 CPUs (all of different makes). Platform Makes a great deal of sence to us - it's more generic.
Bugzilla 2.20 feature set is now frozen as of 15 Sept 2004. Anything flagged enhancement that hasn't already landed is being pushed out. If this bug is otherwise ready to land, we'll handle it on a case-by-case basis, please set the blocking2.20 flag to '?' if you think it qualifies.
Target Milestone: Bugzilla 2.20 → Bugzilla 2.22
(In reply to comment #10) > I disagree with changing Platform to CPU. We have Platforms that run System > and those platforms contain 6 CPUs (all of different makes). Platform Makes a > great deal of sence to us - it's more generic. I was just about to say this. We have a number of distinct x86 platforms with wildly different hardware, often custom. We track some hardware bugs along with the software ones. Heck we track bugs in documents about processes. (Think about that, folks) Leave platform alone, and maybe make sure that "None" is an option by default. And a big thanks to whomever made it easy to edit.
The trunk is now frozen to prepare Bugzilla 2.22. Only bug fixes are accepted, no enhancement bugs. As this bug has a pretty low activity (especially from the assignee), it's retargetted to ---. If you want to work on it and you think you can have it fixed for 2.24, please retarget it accordingly (to 2.24).
Target Milestone: Bugzilla 2.22 → ---

You can now add a separate CPU field if you want to, thanks to custom fields.
