288010 - start page changes by default when upgrading - pisses people right off

finally managed to get to the spot where I can report this fuckin' thing - you
make it so fuckin' hard it's a bloody wonder any fucker reports any fuckin' thing.

I decided to install a fuckin' upgrade - when it gets to the end, I just click
Finish (as you do, no-one reads all that fuckin' **** on install wizards).

anyway, I didn't really register the fact that you've set the install to fuckin'
change my start page to some fuckin Mozilla/Google site. Well: get this fuckers:
if I want to change my fuckin' start page, I WILL FUCKIN' DO IT, AND WILL MAKE A
DELIBERATE DECISION TO DO SO. GOT THAT?

Not sure why you are so angry, and the profanity is definitely not warranted in 
a public forum.  Especially since one item of all that "fuckin' shit on install 
wizards" you ignored was a check-box to prevent Firefox from resetting the 
start page.

WORKSFORME -- someone with editbugs privileges can close this bug...

time search before blindly filing a bug.

took me ages just to jump through all the hoops to get to the point where I 
could report the issue. THEN you want me to sort through YOUR database to find 
out whether the issue's already there.

well, I think you should administer you're own bloody database, without 
expecting everyone out there to search through it for you to find reports of 
the same issue.

you ought to be grateful to those who go to all the trouble of reporting 
things (and acting as unpaid testers), rather than treating them like their 
professional, paid testers who are necessarily familiar with the bug tracking 
system

besides:

- if you have a lot of people reporting the same thing, then that is useful 
information of itself
- different users reporting on the same/similar issues will potentially 
provide valuable additional information
