User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Firefox/1.0.2 I have never had a problem with firefox and have been very impressed with its ability to block popups until I upgraded to 1.0. I began getting popups (in mozilla browsers) at specific sites. None of the newer versions are any different but the previous ones (0.7, 0.8, 0.9) don't get popups. http://www.ebaumsworld.com, a pretty popular website, is an example of this. Should I go back and use the older versions or do the makers have a fix for this in the making. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a site with many popups such as www.ebaumsworld.com (usually) 2. click on the picture leading you to the main page 3. popups should open if you are using one of the newer version of firefox Actual Results: Popups, usually several Expected Results: Blocked them, the previous versions did

Do you mean this "popup" ?
It's not that firefox blocking got worse, it's that web sites have adapted. Firefox attempted to have a "better" blocker by allowing legitimate sites to open "wanted" windowsclicked links to open windows, since that way most legitimate sites still worked. The ebaumsworld site uses the same casalemedia and fastclick scripts that are infecting so many other sites. Looks like it's trying a whole bunch of things, but the ones that currently work are flash popups and onclick popups. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 282931 ***
