User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Any typo in the URL with the http://http://www.something.com will redirect you to microsoft.com. This happens primarily on forums when someone mis-typed the link or if the forum puts http:// automatically and the person typed that in as well. I believe it should automatically see that its a typo and redirect the browser to the approriate address. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://http//www.google.com 2. 3. Actual Results: The browser goes to http://www.microsoft.com Expected Results: Gone to http://www.google.com
Very interesting. My FF1.0 (german Version on win98) goes to http://www.spiegel.de/ Is this a very special kind of sponsoring?
