split off from PDT+ bug 14599 load http://www.mozilla.org/newlayout/xml/tocdemo/rights.xml into the browser. do "Edit Page" somebody should detect that the document type is text/xml, and find an appropriate editor for xml documents. if there is none (and the mozilla html editor certainly is not one (yet)), then the load should be cancelled. mscott, I don't know much about url loading or how applications register for a particular mime type. please help me out here, either by accepting the bug or by telling me where to look. thanks!

Hey Steve, we haven't finished plans for hooking up external applications yet. That's not schedule until beta2. This includes hooking up to external mail applications, external browsers and in your case external xml text editors. I'm not sure how we can nominate this particular bug for beta1 when we've already punted the browser/mail cases to beta2.
according to mscott's last comment, sounds like this should not be beta1. maybe this bug is a dup, or is dependent upon, one mscott already has.

Scott, is this actually a dup then? If we don't have anything to launch, I assume we'll get a nice error message...

Since there is no "Edit page" on the browser as of now, I don't think we want to work on this.
