Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050422
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050422

When you go to compose a new email to someone in your address book and start
typing eg. n3y which brings up my fathers e-mail as a result. I click on his
name but end up getting n3y>>William Byron<emailadress> in the to line. Will
send e-mails but if you look at full header you will again see the amount of
letters first typed for the program to find the stored address. You can remove
the eg. n3y or any other but it is a pain.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open e-mail
2.click compose
3.start typing to put a address in the TO: that is in address book

Actual Results:
eg. aut>>autoinstructor@rest ofe mail address

Expected Results:
Come up with just the bersons name and address no first couple letters typed.

This bug first started in builds 20050419. Previous 1.8b2 and 1.7.7 and nightly
1.7.8 builds do not do this.
This seems to be an Duplicate of Bug 290878, William, could you check this and
mark this as 'Resolved=Duplicate' if its true?

And workaround for the broken Autocomplete is to use the Arrow-Keys Up and Down
to select the Mail-Address.

Sorry about that. I really looked for what I thought were all the postings that
were about email bugs and I must have missed this, At the time I wasn't feeling
well so again sorry about the mistake. Yes it is the same bug, the only thing
using the up and down arrows on my machine does automatically brings you a
second address line as if you were sending the email to another person. I think
it's just as easy to use the mouse and just delete the parts not needed, which
is what I have been doing.
