User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050422 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050422 Firefox/1.0+ After installation of FF 1.0+ 4/22/05 build, receive an Alert error message "The file /D:/Program Files/Firefox 1.0/Files/Firefox cannot be found." Clicking OK generates the same error a second time. Clicking OK again clears the error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install FF 1.0+ 4/22/05 build 2. Start FF 1.0+ by clicking on the Firefox icon 3. Before the program starts, Alert error dialog box appears 4. Error says "The file /D:/Program Files/Firefox 1.0/Files/Firefox cannot be found." 5. Click OK 6. Same error message appears 7. Click OK 8. Now Firefox 1.0+ starts as expected Actual Results: See above Expected Results: Started normally without Alerts

That URL WFM. It is a bit of a long shot, but I wonder if somewhere in your profile there is a URL of the form 'file:///D:/Program Files/Firefox 1.0/Files/Firefox' which should be 'file://D:/Program Files/Firefox 1.0/Files/Firefox' . You might want to do a bit of detective work based on that clue, or start with a fresh profile.
