User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Cell background color of a table in Composer doesn't change properly when list is present inside a cell. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Composer. 2. Insert a table of 2 rows and 2 cols. 3. In one of the cell make a List (either bullleted or numbered) e.g, 1. ABC 2. BCD 4. And in rest of the cells write anything. 5..Place the cursor on a list element in a cell which contains "Listed elements", in the existing table. 5.Select Table->Table or Cell Background Color... 6.Select the Background for cell(s) radio button. 7.Select one color by clicking on the color block. 8.Click on OK button. Actual Results: Background Colour of the row where that List item is present changes and not of the whole cell. The same behaviour is not observed if other cell is selected which does not contain any list item for that the whole cell background can be changed. Expected Results: Backgroung colour of the whole cell should change. If some space is present after the list in the cell (like the space will be left here in this box after this sentence) then the cell background changes properly.
Reproducible with Mozilla 1.8b1 and Mozilla 1.8b2/20050426, style="background-color" is added to the individual <li>'s and not to the <td>.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Problem reproducible with Mozilla 1.7.12/20050915
Also reproducible with SeaMonkey 1.0a, 1.1a/20050929 and, going backwards in time, Mozilla 1.2a but WFM with Mozilla 1.1.
Malika, I was never able to do step 4. I think it's not possible either because <li> is a block-level element, not an inline element. The cell background-color is correctly chosen if Step 5 is Table->Select->Cell When doing step 6 and 7, the statusbar indicates, shows in the display of the linearized DOM tree that the background-color change will involve the <li> element, not the <td>. CONFIRMING Seamonkey 1.1a rv: 1.9a1 build 2005100105 under XP Pro SP2 here.

> 4. And in rest of the cells write anything. By this Step I mean in other cells and not the same one. I should have written it more clearly. Sorry for the confusion.
> I was never able to do step 4. Just a few min. after writing that comment, I was able to write some text in that same cell. Testcase coming up.
