User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3

OK, so it's weird. But it happens every time...
Windows XP Home SP2
AMD Athlon 2200+
1.67GHz-512 MB RAM
Firefox 1.0.3 EN-EN (not EN-US) release

Every time I enter the text "Poirot-Delpech Crête" into the search box the
system reboots. No warning, nothing. "Poirot-Delpech Crete" doesn't crash it
(note no accent on 'e'). I wondered if there was some kind of bug relating to
accented characters in the search box? Reproduced it twice on my system, will
try with others ASAP but getting rather tired of crashing mine. Incidentally,
"crête" alone doesn't reboot the system.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot Firefox (I had more than one tab open first time, only one on reproducing)
2. Enter "Poirot-Delpech Crête" into search box (I think my default is Google,
not Google UK)
3. Hit enter. Make cup of tea while system reboots.
Actual Results:
Reboot. Windows restarts, usual "Kernel Fault Check" and "Windows Error
Reporting" spiel. Windows Error Reporting says it was caused by "an unknown
device driver" (I assume this is the default when they don't have a clue?)

Expected Results:
Should have searched for specified text and not rebooted.

This is using the default theme - in fact the only changes I have made to the
1.0.3 installation (having used automatic updates since FireFox 0.9rc, and that
was the released Win32 installer package) are the installation of the plug-ins
specified in the attachment.
Clarification. The character in the word "crete" that causes a problem is an
e-circumflex, code Alt-0234 (HTML ê) on windows systems, rather than the
strange characters shown in the above description. Sorry.
You get a Windows Blue Screen (called BSOD=Blue Screen of Death) with an
automatic reset.
You can disable the automatic reset somewhere in the system control
panel\system\advanced to see the fiull BSOD error message.

This is always caused by a device driver and/or hardware failure.
Firefox is a userspace application and can't crash winnt/win2k/WinXp/2k3, it can
only trigger a bug in on of your drivers. It also doesn't matter that you get
this only with FF, it's still a bug in a device driver.

I would try an updated or older version of the graphic card driver first.
If that doesn't help ask the microsoft support how to find the driver which
caused the BSOD.
