User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050420 Debian/1.7.7-2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050420 Debian/1.7.7-2 crash on startup. tabs reloaded (session saver extension), most of them ok. password dialog comes to unlock password db, http auth'ed pages ask for OK on password popups. loading goes on and firefox crashes. reproducible but I cannot share it because it contains plenty of internal tabs. there were 40+ tabs, memory allocation is around 70MB. You don't have only http auth pages, the one that crashes is an ssl page. Do you try to load ssl pages with client authentification by certificate ? To reproduce one probably doesn't need the exact same set of page, there probably is a threshold after a given number of SSL/HTTP Auth pages where it happens. Could you try to find what it is ?

i found a core too, which is completely diffrerent. :-o don't ask me how. see below.
re #1: I checked, and there's 3 https pages in the session, two are munin graphs
pages with plenty of pictures (all of them from https+http auth), and one is a
usual webpage.
I do not know what you mean "auth by certificate", these are ssl webservers, and
the auth is the same password ("basic auth" in apache) as it would w/o ssl. The
munin one have a "problem" where webserver hostname differs from cert name (and
I say "OK" to popup) and the other is certified by a CA known to FF.
I have set sessionsaver.autoload=false, and to my suprise (or lack of
experimantation) session was loaded but did not crash, but it may have been
related to other factors (like that I entered password after 5-10 minutes since
I was away). Since the munin graph page reloads every 5 mins it is possible that
it will crash FF after a while.
Core's backtrace:

grin@tolna.net: can we try to limit bugs to a single issue? reporter: i don't see firefox in your useragent...

re #3: 1) I am the reporter :) you funny guy. 2) this is [it is supposed to be] the same issue. the core was generated the same way as the first BT, but if you say it's a different issue I can't debate that. it looked just the same. Pick any of them since on the user side they look just the same. 3) how do you want to see firefox in my user agent when I cannot start it? it crashed on Startup. Here's it for you: "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-1)"
well, short summary, your browser decided to shutdown instead of starting up. and it's not doing a good job. beyond that, i dunno :)

(In reply to comment #5) > well, short summary, your browser decided to shutdown instead of starting up. > and it's not doing a good job. beyond that, i dunno :) timeless: what are you talking about? the first stack trace indicates that a nsSocketTransport is being closed. where do you see something indicating that the browser is trying to shutdown?
oops.. not sure what i misread... maybe i'm used to the sts shutting down.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
