User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Nothing happens when I click on a file:/// link to non-HTML documents on a network drive within a HTML 4.01 Strict page served from a webserver. Source URL: (internal only) http://fg-statmon01/wrl/index.php?page=19 Target URLs: file:///L|/Workpapers/Cover Page.dot file:///L:/Workpapers/Cover Page.dot I am unable to test this with links to local (non-network drives); and the URL format is as per RFC2396. Are there any security settings or such that relate to linking to file:/// URLs from http:// addresses? Could not find anything in about:config. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit page containing link to the URL 2. Click on link 3. Nothing happens Actual Results: Nothing. Webpage stayed the same; no hourglass cursor; no dialog with file open/save options; page stayed navigable as if the link was to # or javascript:void(). Expected Results: Opened a dialog box to save or open the linked document The target path (L:) is mapped to \\fg-fp01\accounting
This is one of the pages that fail to link to the documents.
