click on any of the objects and everything gets painted blue-ish
this has been like this from the start

expected:
don't show selected color for the <canvas> element, it's ugly
onclick does not show selectedcolor in <img> or <svg> either

event.preventDefault(); in the mousedown event handler prevents default (as
expected)
