Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 SUSE/1.0.4-1.1
Since I upgraded Firefox to 1.0.4 on SuSe Linux my bookmarks do not appear when
I start Firefox. If I do File->New Window then the new window has all my
bookmarks and the bookmarks toolbar is filled in properly. After that Fixfire is
fine and I close the initial Window.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double click Firefox Icon
2.No Bookmarks
3.Click File and "new Window" or do Ctrl-N and bookmarks are in the new Window.
Actual Results:
After Step 1 the Bookmarks tab and Bookmarks Toolbar are empty.
Expected Results:
After Step 1 my .mozilla/firefox/tfacopgl.default/bookmarks.html should be used
for the bookmarks andbookmarks toolbar.
As I mentioned a Ctrl-N is a temporary work-around.

have you tried a startup in -safe-mode ?
maybe it's an extension problem ?

Don, would you please test the packages from
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/mozilla/experimental/firefox in case you use
SUSE Linux 9.3?

This is a known bug in the SUSE RPMs and will be fixed with next security-update.
So WFM here.

That means that all by precious bookmarks are gone... that any one know a way of recovering those?

At least if you encounter this special bug your bookmarks are still there but not displayed. If you have lost your bookmarks it's another upstream bug.
