The proble is not even in the number of accounts but number of passwords. My proposal is to use Jabber instead of e-mail for registration and then for distribution of one time authentication tokens. User would register in the bugzilla with her jid (and maybe e-mail too). Everytime she would like to log in would receive a token (password, url). Since jabber is generally much faster and much more handy than e-mail it might be a good solution of increasing number of bugzilla passwords. Reproducible: Always

Lads at http://openid.xmpp.za.net did what I meant. Take a look at it.
Shouldn't this bug get nice WONTFIX in favor of fixing bug 294608
I hope it won't, however, OpenID should go first.
And of course if you have OpenID, nothing stops you from http://openid.xmpp.za.net/ or something similar.
this proposal is better suited to being implemented as an extension instead of in bugzilla core.
