Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050702 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050702 Firefox/1.0+ It isn't clear that the 'page load error' page (ie. the page that now appears when one goes to a URL that doesn't exist) is coming from Firefox, and not from the server that is trying to be accessed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to some non-existent website, eg. www.blaah.blaah Actual Results: A page appears which is not clearly from Firefox Expected Results: All this page really needs added is something like 'Mozilla Firefox' at the bottom of the page, so that we know that Firefox is giving us this page. Internet Explorer has something like this for its 404 page. In general, this page could overall be improved a bit, for example, it should say something like 'Firefox could not find this page' etc. etc.
Looks like a dupe of bug 280190 . Max do you agree?
I'm not sure because that bug seems to be regarding the visual appearance of the error page whereas this bug is regarding the content itself.
Did you look at the screenshot and the patch it appears to change the content quite a bit as well as its appearance. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=187466 If further changes are needed then that bug is probably the place to make such comments as that is where the changes appear to be taking place.
Yes, I agree then... but how do you find dupes like this so fast? I looked for ages and couldn't find any bug like this one! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 280190 ***
