AT momoi's suggestion, I'm creating this bug. See bug 21305 for the explanation, but briefly, if you install mozilla, with the WRONG jre distribution, mozilla will crash after the splash screen. The reason is: The wrong JRE distribution means: it doesn't have an i18n.jar The installer issue is that we need to make sure that the internationalized version of the JRE gets bundled with the installer. True, it's still a bug and it shouldn't crash, but that's the point of 21305. Ed
This bug depends on the real problem, which is that it shouldn't crash the browser if the wrong JRE is installed.
Depends on: 21305
I haven't seen a definite answer as to use the jre that contains the i18n.jar for the english installer builds. Is it definite now given this bug? If it is, please add beta1 in the keywords section. (thanks for filing this bug)

Ever since we filed teh other bug in 12/99, we have been saying that the installer issue is Beta 1 for Japan and other countries which need the i18n.jar. Marking it beta1.
