We should have a section called "Advanced". That would be the right place for the "config editor". Also Sunbird will have the same update preferences as Firefox/Thunderbird in the future. All this preferences should be under "Advanced". The second thing is to rename "Options" to "Preferences" like in Firefox/Thunderbird. Reproducible: Always

I agree on that one. > The second thing is to rename "Options" to "Preferences" like in > Firefox/Thunderbird. I suppose this only applies for Linux? (At least it shouldn't be changed in Windows. Both FF and TB has 'Tools->Options' in windows)

Changing summary since it's only the first part of this bug report that is valid, and it's not included in the summary. (Unless ofcourse, the menu is actually called "options" in Linux at the moment. If that's the case, please change it back. Changing summary From: Reorganize "Options" and rename it to "Preferences" To: Add "Advanced" section in the options menu
Summary: Reorganize "Options" and rename it to "Preferences" → Add "Advanced" section in the options menu

Who would we talk to about getting the advanced icon to use in our prefs? Do we want this? And in that case, should we wait until after alpha2, or even after 0.3?

Well, it's getting done as part of 305182. I split it off of 333923 to try and keep that bug's patches manageable.
