Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open FireFox 2. type or copypaste or click on link with above mentioned URL 3. after certain amount of time, it crashes browser Actual Results: browser crashes Expected Results: resource consumption is monitored and aggresive use of resource is preempted, with choice to user - to go further or stop it. AFAIK, problem(s) with "too consuming javascripts" already partially addressed in Firefox - I have seen time to time Firefox's message with warning about Javascript problems and offered choice, to go further or stop that particular javascript. i think this could be re-used to solve issue.

I am not about to argue, but... I have loaded URL few times, and all times it crashed browser. Every time after crash the "feedback module" started and it has sent collected info (I hope with URL included), so if you have access to that info - please use it. If you need more crashes - I will try to do it again, several times, and follow what is included in "feedback" being sent back to Mozilla.org (in particular, to verify whether URL is included there, so you ought to single out this caes and CONFIM this bug report).

btw: IE6 crashed and Opera8 kinda locked up but could still be closed in a normal way
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050717 Firefox/1.0.6 hmmm, checked it at home on Win XP - it didn't crash first time, but hanged for visible time - about 10-15 secs. During this "hang" it didn't reacted for input, but had been drawing, with certain "defects" (few bars didn't appear), but "final" draw (after which it has stopped, probably on LOW_MEMORY signal) was correct and no error message. I expected it either to die or stop with error message.

you're using ff1.0 which is 1.7ish, this was fixed for 1.8ish *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 301491 ***
