What type of api are you looking for? We currently have the address book
datasource which can be accessed from C++ or JavaScript. You could and probably
should access the address book through this datasource. Are you looking to have
a layer on top of this? If so please explain how it might be used to I can
understand what you need.

I'm looking for an API to implement a "server" for addressbook data. Mozilla
should play the "client" role. Does the datasource API fit into this model ?

I think yes. Mozilla includes the address book datasource so I am not 100% sure.
We access the address book data through this datasource from the xul/js UI in
mozilla. Marking bug as works for me.

CDE stores it's vCards as single files in $HOME/.dt/Addresses/
Can this be addressed by the datasource API (e.g. storing single vCard files&&
fetching single vCard files) ?
