The XULRunner build is hanging repeatedly on columbia. All current software and security updates have already been applied. The process listing shows only the tinderbox process itself and a single '(gnumake)' process with no arguments. The build log for the build in progress (not uploaded to tinderbox) ends with the 'rm' commands for removing the pkg-dmg files. Note that the release build immediately prior to this build completed successfully: http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showlog.cgi?log=XULRunner/1126131780.4160.gz&fulltext=1
Installed ccache on columbia.

I've made two changes of note: 1.) I've updated make using fink (3.7.9 -> 3.7.9.1). 2.) While using fink, I noticed the warning that the installed version of gcc (3.3, build 1666) was known to produce bad code from c++ in some cases. I upgrade gcc using the November 2004 gcc 3.3 updater from connect.apple.com. If other machines need the same fix, the disk image for the updater is on mecha at /home/ccooper/software_for_tinderboxen/november2004gccupdater_7k579.dmg. XR builds are churning out now. I'll leave this open for now while I make sure things are truly fixed.
columbia has been pretty stable since the XCode and java security update on 2005-09-19 (no reboots required).

We're going to be shuffling the Mac builds around now that columbia has been reimaged. I will reopen this if the reimaged machine still has problems.
