When dragging a link on a page to another program or to the tab bar to open in a
new tab, the name and address of that link could appear under the mouse as it is
dragged. This is what happens in Safari.

In Safari, a black bezel (ie. semi-transparent rounded rectangle) appears under
the mouse with the name of the link and the address under the name in white
text. See Safari to see exactly what I mean.

Not only does this look attractive, but I find it quite useful to see the name
and address of the link, particularly if the link itself does not give anything
away about the site it links to.

Reproducible: Always
Confirming as a RFE. Targeting for 1.1.

Hello people. I am new around here. I would like to work on this bug. Please guide me on what to do.
Stuart, this probably isn't a [good first bug], is it? My SWAG is that we'd have to override Gecko's own drag images, if that's even possible, but I really don't know.
Yes, this comes from widget/src/cocoa/nsDragService.mm, and there's no hook for us to override it. It's really something that would have to be changed in Gecko--and of course, changing Gecko no longer helps us. So unless we wanted to mini-branch for this, we should probably WONTFIX (can't-fix) it.

In 2006 when widget/cocoa was just our code, it might have been a good first bug ;)
If you are interested in getting involved in Camino development, I'd suggest stopping by the irc channel and talking to us; our [good first bug] list is not particularly well maintained.
