User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051001 Firefox/1.4.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051001 Firefox/1.4.1

When using incremental update to upgrade from the 2005-09-30 build to the
2005-10-01 build (1.8 branch, Mac OS X 10.4.2), firefox-bin crashed after the
update finished applying, as Firefox attempted to start. Talkbalk didn't start,
but Apple's crash reporter did. I will attach it's output, with the hope that
it will help. This IS reproducible though...I tried it more than once with the
same builds.

Also, the update did seem to apply without issue (the version strings were
updated, and it seemed to have the correct fixes that 2005-09-30 didn't
have)...Firefox just crashed on the first launch after applying it. Manually
launching Firefox after the crash worked fine.

Here is part of the crash report (the full report will be attached):
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the 2005-09-30 build (1.8-branch)
2. Go to Help -> Check for updates...
3. Download and install the available update

Actual Results:
After it finishes applying the update, Firefox attempts to start, and crashes.

Expected Results:
After applying the update, Firefox should successfully start up.

The crash only seems to happen on Mac OS X. But when I tried updating from the
2005-09-30 build to the 2005-10-01 build on Windows 2000, the incrementral
update failed, and it attempted a complete update, which also seemed to fail
(but without an error message).
Here is the crash report generated by Apple's crash reporter, which I copied
and pasted into a text file (instead of sending to Apple).
