User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.0.7 when you add a bookmark to a local directory, for example file:///home/user, it gets expanded in the menu, so that you can browse the filesystem through the menu. but in my case the menu entries (the contents of the directory) are not sorted at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add a Bookmark to a local directory, for example file:///home/user 2. Open the `Bookmarks` menu in the menubar 3. Go to the submenu of the bookmark Actual Results: You see an unsorted list of the directory contents Expected Results: Sort the contents
Same thing here on Windows XP Pro : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.0.5) Gecko/20060719 Firefox/1.5.0.5 The strange thing is that some directories are displayed sorted and some are not. for example my url "file:///C:/WINDOWS/system32/ReinstallBackups/" is correctly sorted by name apparently : all the sub-folders are displayed from 0000 at the top to 0013 (for me) at the end of the list. But other directories are unsorted.
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

feature seems to be removed in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070509 Firefox/2.0.0.3 mark as INVALID
Confirmed (and the feature is present) with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.5pre) Gecko/20070701 BonEcho/2.0.0.5pre Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 The feature is absent in Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070701 Minefield/3.0a6pre, so I guess it will be wontfixed.
