Can reproduce with
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; cs; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051107 Firefox/1.5
on Windows XP SP2
Works fine with
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; cs-CZ; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 on Windows 2000
Problem is not related to www.google.com, it shows on other sites too, including www.mozilla.org
Seems like every word is encapsulated in some additional space, most visible on hyperlinks (underline continues after the link text).
